It's a Monday blue and I'm pondering where to go for our department CNY lunch. Unlike our usual past dining at a Chinese restaurant with 'Lou hei' etc., we are going to have buffet at Bar and Billard Room at Raffles Hotel!
As you enter the restaurant, you can see two original billard tables and cupboards showcasing some cigars. They have high ceiling, dark wooden furniture, very colonial style of setting, cozy dining place. Staffs were friendly and polite and every time when you left your table for your buffet rounds, all plates will be cleared, cups will be refilled and the table setting and napkins will be placed nicely again, awaiting for your return.
The lunch buffet spread were pretty decent, especially the seafood section you will see things like oysters, tiger prawns and smoked salmons. They were all fresh and succulent. The salad section has a huge spread with all kind of vegetables you can find, accompanied with stuff like seared tuna/salmon or chicken. There are plenty of cooked food such as cod fish, roast beef, potato gratin, lamb chop, prawns etc. The dessert section is one of my favourite, each of them looks so nice and I can't help taking one of each to try. They has this soursop ice cream which is definitely the best dessert after a hearty meal! Overall, this meal has been a very relaxing and satisfying experience. The lunch buffet costs around 60++ per pax.
