Aoba Hokkaido Ramen @ Vivocity

Another craving for Ramen again. Since we are at Vivocity, we placed our foot into Aoba Hokkaido Ramen to settle our dinner for the night. We had once eaten this at Ion Orchard and think it was quite alright. However the shop wasn't very spacious so it was kind of cramp when we are lead to our seats. Not too many varieties, we chose to eat their Tontoro Shoyu Ramen and Miso Char Siew Ramen with corn, followed by 5pcs of pan-fried dumplings.

Tontoro Shoyu Ramen - Soy sauce flavoured soup base, I quite like it probably because it's salty enough haha. The Pork belly is quite tender, not superb but still decent. 4 pcs in total. The noodles are chewy or in fact not the same as those ramen when you can break it off in one bite. I personally like this kind of texture.

Miso Char Shu Ramen with Corn - Average char siew Ramen you get to eat at most places. Nothing special except you get to get an additional taste - corn hahaha.

Pan-fried dumpling - not very oily, decent taste. Good.

Tampopo Ramen @ Liang Court

It was a hungry Friday evening as we are craving to have some Ramen for dinner. We headed down to Liang Court to try out the famous Tampopo Ramen many people is talking about. There was a crowd outside the restaurant and we need to take a queue number. Luckily it wasn't a long wait and we can finally settle down to satisfy our hungry tummy.

Black Pig Shabu with Pork bone soup. It was known that the soup was being boiled for 2 days to make it rich in taste. I find it quite tasty especially with the assorted chilli which enhance the taste a little. Not to forget, the black pig Tonkatsu in it is good and tender.

Kyushu style noodles were used which is smooth, springy, thin and easy for consume.

Hokodate Shio Ramen with Pork bone and Seafood soup, you get to taste the combination of 2 different flavours. Flavourful but will taste even better with some assorted chilli and few drops of chilli oil (my preference haha). The Char Siew is also quite chewy and nice.

They used yellow noodles for the Hokodate ramen which resemble the 'mee kia' (thin yellow noodles) at some bak chor mee stall. Relatively, I still prefer Kyushu style.

 Char Siew

This is my favourite side dish! Roast Wagyu Beef steak where the outer skin was grilled until golden brown and inside was so tender and juicy. It may be a little oily though but who cares! Yummy!

Sorry I enjoy too much till I kind of forgotten the exact name of this dish. Wagyu Beef? But the beef image is easy to recognize hehe.

Some of their seasonings.

Tea Cosy @ Plaza Singapura

TGIF again! Met up with some friends to have dinner at Tea Cosy located at Plaza Singapura level 5 just beside Spotlight shop.

My first impression of this shop is an antique/furniture selling shop but actually it was a dining restaurant within! Their shop deco and ambiance were quite unique and vintage with dim lightings. I was attracted to their angel ornaments and figurines placed all over the interior. The feeling was really cosy and peaceful as the soft music accompanies us in the background.
They provide set or ala-carte as choices. As for us, we wish to choose our own. :)
Tangy Tomato and Crabmeat Soup - their crouton is home-made and this soup gives the sweetness of seafood and sour of tomato taste which is appetizing.

Volcano Nachos - one of their new starter dishes - Crispy corn chips with melted cheese salsa, avocado-based dip, sour cream and jalapeno chilli. Must dip in all sauces blending together with the chips and it's good!

Pan-fried Foie Gras - This is superb nice! Love how it's pan-fried till golden brown on the outside and the interior melting sensation when you put into your mouth. It's served with fresh garden salad and apricot. Portion was relatively small but good.
Gourmet Beef Steak Burger - served with coleslaw and potato chips. You can add on the following too: pan fried foie gras chunks, sauteed mushroom or fried egg. Tender juicy steak blends well with the shitake mushrooms which make the dish don't appear too dry.

Steak and Potatoes - Grilled marinated prime Ribeye steak with potato slices served with the salad below. You can choose to have additions just like the steak burger. The steak is tasty yet the quality of the beef is just alright.

Salad side dish with the steak

These are their homemake dessert - the cupcakes! You can choose to add a scoop of ice cream too with additional cost.

We chose the Bob dog with sunflower design, so cute ^_^

Ebony and Ivory - Chocolate Fudge brownies with vanilla ice cream. The brownie is chewy and the chocolate is just nice, not overly sweet. With the vanilla ice cream as topping, the combination is good. One of the must-try desserts in Tea Cosy.

Tea Cosy Lychee Breeze - sweet and refreshing

Tea Cosy Chocolate Minty Coffee - Interesting 3 layers. You must blend this well before consuming so that it won't be overly sweet or bitter haha

Ji De Chi (记得吃) Desserts [Liang Seah Street]

After seafood @ JB, we are craving for some desserts! We headed down to Liang Seah Street located @ Bugis area and big crowds were seen in every single shop. Not willing to wait too long @ Ah Chew Dessert, we changed our mind to eat @ Ji De Chi instead. There were many customers too but we still managed to get seats. Phew~

Their desserts are quite pricey but the standard is almost on par especially their Durian flavour Snowy Ice with Durian Puree, whereas the ice is shredded, very special looking, thick durian puree which is thick and tasty, and the sago which pops in your mouth leaving a little of sourness and sweetness of fruity taste which reminds me of fish eggs.

Seafood @ San Low (JB)

Previously I didn't get to go San Low @ Johor Bahru so this time round I must try out some of their seafood dishes! After trying here comes a verdict:

Their Sambal Sotong(squids) are really fresh and still retain the 'crunchiness' in each bite. It's tasty, not very spicy and should go well with rice.

Crayfish is all along that I always wanted to try. We ordered Garlic Butter Crayfish and were kind of disappointed. Although the freshness is there but it wasn't really tasty compared to the one I had at JB Sentosa. Taste common. The butter taste wasn't strong enough too. Moreover it's quite small.

Close view of the crayfish

Next we ordered Thai-styled Stingray. It's not those one piece of BBQ stingray that we normally see on the banana leaf kind, they cut it up and fry with the Thai sauce which is good and not very spicy. I think this dish tastes somehow the same as the one I had at Fu Li Seafood at KangKar Mall(Hougang).

One of their Signature dish - Dry fried Bee Hoon. Simple but yet fragrant and nice. It isn't too dry nor too oily, and the taste of garlic, eggs and the rest of the ingredients blends well with the bee hoon. One of the must-try dishes.

Stir-fry Kai Lan. Common dish, easy to cook but this one is a little too salty. However we still can't stop munching on as somehow it still taste good. Hahaha..

Total damage is around Ringgit $128.

Mushroom Pot @ Orchard Point

This mushroom pot buffet is located at Orchard Point, Level 4 of OG.

Thankfully it wasn't very crowded on a Saturday evening, but still we did make reservation just in case.

They gave us a 4 seaters table for 2 pax therefore it makes our dining very comfy and spacious.

This is the electric stove they used to heat up the steamboat.

They have 2 types of soup base - Wild mushroom or Spicy (Ma-la), if not, you can add $4 for additional ingredient such as black chicken, Lingzhi or Herbal with the soup. We chose the wild mushroom soup, very fragrant and tasty.

You can choose 5 items from starter or house special dishes per table. One serving per item. Other than that, the rest are free flow. After some recommendations from the waitress, we chose the following:

 House Special Beef (Spicy)

 Teriyaki style Scallop stick

 Golden fried Shitake Mushroom (Yummy!)

Black pepper sliced pork with C.V. mushrooms

Oops I forgotten what this is... it don't seem to be in the menu, tastes like mayonnaise fried squids.

For the free flow stuff, they have those normal steamboat ingredients such as different type of beef parts (I love beef slices most), pork parts, yam, squid/prawn balls, vegetables and of course varieties of mushrooms!
