OldTown White Coffee @ Cineleisure

Being well-known for its 3-in-1 instant white coffee and the traditional Ipoh coffee shop setting and ambiance, OldTown White Coffee has opened many outlets in Singapore and Malaysia.

Since I'm at Cineleisure after watching the Doraemon movie (so much memories ^_^), I dropped by to try our their supreme Asian cuisine selection - Nasi Rendang and Prawn mee. The portion is bigger, extra toppings ...a little too big for me. Guessed I'm too greedy...:X

Supreme Prawn Mee, real big portion, so much bee hoon & noodles given, contains egg, fishcakes, 2 prawns with shell unpeeled:(, kang kong vege, and beansprouts. The soup is quite tasty and a little spicy. Not fantastic but still satisfying. Damage: $7.90

Supreme Nasi Rendang, the chilli is good, goes well with the rice. Chicken tastes like any normal curry chicken, other ingredients are just ordinary. $9.50 is a little overrated.

Their curry tastes good, not overly spicy. Love the potatoes.

These toast bread were supposed to eat with the curry but we end up finishing the curry without really touching them, just a few bites that's all. It's kinda hard, probably we don't know how to appreciate. :P

Strawberry Mellow dessert containing 2 scoops of ice cream. It tastes exactly the same as Mac's sundae.

2 small pcs complimentary Kueh Lapis when you order the supreme set. :P

As you can see, we didn't had their famous coffee, that's because we don't wanna stay up tonight so we had root beer instead. :D

men men don don @ NEX Serangoon Mall

A tiny outlet which sells Japanese delights such as Sushi, Don and Ramen for customers to take away or have a quick meal at their limited seats.

Cramp but cozy sitting area.

Chef at work

Shoyu Ramen, tastes like ordinary instant noodles with some blended soy sauce. Damage - $6.80

Salmon Ikura Don, I certainly love salmon eggs when they bursts on your tongue. Goes well with my Don. As for the salmon, it's not totally fresh as there were some strong fishy taste in certain pieces. Damage - $7.80

Saw this outside NEX, so sweet.

Hot Tomato Cafe & Grill @ Nex Serangoon

Came across the advertisement board few days ago @ Nex on their Steak, Prawn 'N' Aglio Olio and decided to try it today. However, there were certain disappointment in its quality and taste. Probably if you just want a decent meal to fill your hunger and not too picky about its taste, you could give it a try since the pricing was pretty affordable (range from $5.90 - $13.90). I think it's quite a great value for students though.

With additional of $2.90, you could upgrade your meal to enjoy soup of the day, garlic bread and drinks. I find their tomato soup pretty sour though.

I ordered their Steak, Prawn 'N' Aglio Olio, where's the prawn? Oh, they made a mistake in the order hence my prawns have to be served separately later, haiz.

Does it looks juicy to you? It does right? However the truth hurts. It was pretty dry and tough although it's in medium state. I had a hard time cutting and chewing it boo hoo hoo...

Their spaghetti is cooked and mixed with herbs, taste alright.

There came our grilled prawns seasoned with salt and pepper, not as succulent and juicy as stated but still taste ok.

I added the prawns to complete my set which I initially ordered. :P

Ice lemon tea

I find it a little tough to say that out... :X

Rabbit Brand Seafood Delicacies @ Lucky Plaza

Baby abalone set at $8.50?
Abalone set with Shishamo at $12.50?
Braised sharkfin set at 6.50?
Yes, you can simply find it at the 2nd level of Lucky Plaza, heart of town in Orchard.

Abalone set comes with one abalone, big mushrooms, broccoli, 4 fried shishamo, a bowl of dessert (cold cheng teng) and rice. The abalone may not be as big as we can eat in restaurants, but its tenderness is just nice and their mushrooms blend well with the sauce. Damage: $12.50
Their Shishamo is very crispy and I just love to chew on the full bunches of eggs inside. Yummy!

Baby Abalone set which comes with the same thing as the above set except shishamo. It tastes quite nice probably because of the oyster sauce which goes well with the rice, as you enjoy the chewy abalone. Damage: $8.50
Baby Abalone

Hmm, the braised sharkfin soup looks more like fish maw soup as I can hardly find any sharkfin inside except fish maw and crab stick. After scrutinizing, we finally found few strands of them haha. The taste wise is average. Damage: 6.50

Side dish broccoli, nothing special, just want something healthy as accompanies haha. Damage: $1.60

If next time your friends want you to treat them to an abalone feast, you can probably consider here as the price is considered quite reasonable. It's still abalone isn't it? Hahaha...

The Manhattan Fish Market @ Plaza Singapura

By now, Manhattan Fish Market should be very well known by many for its grilled/fried seafood feast. Today I had some craving for it so we headed down to Plaza Singapura to have it for dinner before our movie session. As we were early, there weren't any queue. We ordered their seafood platter (most people's favourite), mudpie dessert and additional soup of the day with drinks.

One thing I like about their mushroom chowder is that they added a lot of tiny chopped mushrooms inside and the texture is great as we can chew as we drink haha.

Seafood platter for 2 - My purpose of ordering this is because I simply love their grilled prawn with mayonnaise cheese melted over it, superb good and juicy. The fragrant butter rice and fried calamari were my next priority.
The rest are just too normal, the battered fish patty doesn't really interest me.
I think their this Mudpie tastes quite nice for just the price of $3.90. It contains thick chocolate ice cream in the middle covered with chocolate crust and peanuts sprinkled on top. Sweetness is just nice and not exhausting kind. Although the ice cream area is kind of hard and need some effort to cut, it's still worth it.

Li Xin Teochew Fishball Noodles @ Ion Orchard

At the price of $5 for a bowl of fishball noodles, many may think it is overpriced. However, I find it rather worth it.

Unlike those over bouncy factory made fishballs. Li Xin's handmade fishballs are made from yellowtail and stored in cold water to maintain its soft yet bouncy texture. The taste is simply delicious and you get to enjoy 7 of them in regardless of soup or dry based.

Another worth mentioning is the noodles mixed with secret special blended chilli sauce, soy sauce, fish sauce, vinegar and lard. I had mee pok and it was really springy and delicious, all thanks to the sauce.

I noticed they are quite generous with the amount of noodles, so much! Well hmm probably it wasn't very cheap that's why haha, but still... *thumbs up*

Shashlik Restaurant @ Far East Shopping Centre

A hidden gem in Far East Shopping Centre,  located at 6th floor at a corner, dark wooden door entrance which makes you wonder what exactly this place is selling. However as you open the door, strong fragrance of grilled beef smell straightaway hits your nose, and I actually went "Waaa... I'm so hungry...". The ambiance inside is quite cozy, their lightings are really dimmed, most of the waiters and waitresses are at elderly age, some really have attitude problem while some are friendly. Perhaps it's a family business which involved their own relatives/friends.

Their mushroom soup is light yet really filled with mushroom's sweetness. $8 one big bowl.

They will serve you bread with SCS butter. Simple but nice. :)

Escargots - for those who don't mind eating snails with strong garlic taste.

Shitake mushrooms with minced meat as toppings. Taste average.

Grilled Chicken served with salad and chips. I'm not a chicken lover so this tastes average to me. However the texture is quite tender and not overcooked.

This is the highlight of the restaurant! Shashlik beef fillet served in hotplate. Long fillet shape with nice texture. It's superb good, so chewy and juicy which I gobbled up as fast as I could haha. Their chips are also extra crispy. *crunch*

At the price of $25 for this beef fillet set I think it's really worth the experience.
