Jack's Place @ Marina Square

Jack's Special Steak - centre-cut tenderloin topped with asparagus and black mushroom sauce, accompanied with baked potato with chicken bacon bits, spring onions and cheese. This steak is best eaten in medium/medium rare style as it will taste more juicy and tender especially on sizzling plate.

Lobster Bisque - simply tasty and has the sweetness of lobster bits in it.

 Garlic bread

Tropical Mango Delight - Mango moose tart with fresh mango as topping and mango sauce. This dessert has good combination of crunchy biscuit, sweet moose and a bit of sourness in the mango which won't make you feel sick of it.

Apple Pie A La Mode - Soft skin pie filled with thick cinnamon sugared apples which served warm and a scoop of cold vanilla ice cream to contrast in this hot & cold dessert.

October seafood promotion.

Bagus La Mian Yong Tau Foo

When you are at Bagus, be sure to try their ikan parang fishballs which are big and bouncy, not too salty yet has the sweet taste in every chew. I can't seem to get sick of eating that, and simply don't mind ordering all fishballs instead of different kinds haha. But of course, their tau foo is also not bad with the skin fried till crispy, best mix with chilli/Hakka style sweet sauce.

Another favourite is the Squid with Kang Kong! They are quite generous with the squids and when you mix the peanuts, thin striped cucumber, kang kong and the sweet and sour Ampang gravy sauce together, it tastes superb good! I personally like it alot.

It costs around $3.60 for 6 items, 50cents for bee hoon/rice or $1 for la mian (noodles).

Tokyo Deli Cafe [CLOSED]

Looking for somewhere cozy to chill out with a few friends and craving for light yet tasty meal to go with your thoughts of a diet plan? Tokyo Deli Cafe lets you choose and mix your preferred dishes on the menu at 4 for $13.80. It can be of any mixture selections except for some indicated by the staff. The portion is quite small for each hence it's good for those who wants a light meal, if not you may have to order 2 sets for yourself haha. They mainly serve Japanese Fusion food and they did make an effort on the dressing of each dishes. Not sure is it because the amount was little, I personally think most of them taste really good and couldn't get enough of it especially their prawn gratin and tako salad.

Creamy Prawn Gratin with macaroni, cheese and pumpkin. Love this dish most and couldn't get enough of it.

Berry Panna Cotta, sweet creamy vanilla gelatin-based pudding which goes well with strawberry

This one is one of my favourite, the Mango Jelly, not only the mango is sweet, the jelly simply melts in your mouth and get indulged in the richness of mango delights.

The Line buffet @ Shangri-La Hotel

As Mum's birthday falls on a weekday, we decided to celebrate it earlier @ The Line on Sunday. Although today is the final of F1 race, luckily Shangri-La hotel was not so near Marina area hence everything was still as per normal.

As we approached the hotel, there were plenty of staffs standby at the entrance to greet you to make you feel welcomed. The Line is located at one escalator down from the lobby. From the first glance at the entrance, we can see how spacious the buffet area was. They use mainly orange and white theme which is very cozy and trendy. It's international based cuisine and has over 16 culinary stations to choose from. i noticed they have put a lot of effort on the food dressing which make everything looks very appetizing.

At the seafood section, there's chefs stationed there to help you open the oysters on the spot. This is to maintain the freshness in it. Same for the Japanese corner, instead of placing the ready-cut Sashimi on the display, we have to order from them. Make sure to indicate how much you want as each serving is very little portion.

Another section is the Chinese dim sum, they have quite a number of selections of those usual dim sum we know. I personally like their mushroom with prawn and fried prawn dumpling.

They also have local favourites such as satay, roast pork/duck, charsiew, rojak etc, Indian cuisine such as mutton, prata, curry etc., Western cuisine such as pizza, prime ribs, bacons, roast lambs, goose liver etc. Too many to list! Simply have a little of each will definitely make you very bloated.

What's more, their attractive and very appetizing desserts will definitely pulls you over even if you think you had enough. The choices are so wide that you simple want to have each of everything. From chocolate fondue to pastries and cakes, local Peranakan kuehs are also available and not to forget, ice cream with different flavours and you get to add additional toppings you desire.

Another thing to mention is their prompt service in plate clearing and drinks refilling. Very efficient and always end with a smile.

Currently they have a promotion 39 where you need to make reservation online here to enjoy their 39% off food bill on all menus, house pour red & white wines, "Xiang" beer and soft drinks.

I think I've had too much, should ban myself from buffet for the time being haha.
