10 at Claymore @ Pan Pacific Orchard

Received a Singtel Birthday voucher 1 for 1 buffet at 10 at Claymore located at Pan Pacific Orchard hotel. Since it's a buffet, of course I'm very keen to go. Initially we didn't print out the voucher as it stated that we can actually just flash to them and I'm trying to be environmental friendly ok haha. Unfortunately, the waitress insisted they need to see the physical voucher so we were kind of disappointed. Luckily we are able to print it out at the hotel so our buffet session resumed! :P

Every month they will change a list of ala carte menu which is so called 'Special dishes of the buffet' which you can order from them. We ordered most except Char kway teow and Laksa.

1st special dish - Angus beef tenderloin, I would say this tastes best out of all. Tender and juicy, satisfy beef lover like me.

2nd special dish - Salmon fillet, a little overcooked, quite bland.

3rd special dish - Roasted lamb, it contains super strong odor on our first bite so we are of no choice but to leave the rest untouched.

4th special dish- smells good but tastes very normal.

The chef will help to ply open the oysters for you.

Seafood section, I feel the way they place the items are kind of messy. Probably is due to space constraint.

My favourite boston lobster!

Range of cooked food selections

Cheese area

Sashimi and sushi section, doesn't look very appetizing to me so I didn't had any even though I love sashimi.

Chocolate fondue!

Macaroons were available too.

 Desserts and fruits corner

Ice cream and its condiments

Overall the buffet is not very wide spread and their special menu dishes did not really amaze me. However since I went with the promo voucher, It's still acceptable though.

Chikuwa Tei

What I like about this place is not only its cozy setting, warm service but the thickness of its Sashimi. They are generously thick, especially their swordfish, fresh and crunchy. One of the recommended set is Chirashi Sushi Set if you are into raw fish. Few others like Ten Cha (Tempura) Soba Set and Cod Fish Teriyaki Set are also pretty good too.

Interior setting

One of the starter - Potato Salad

I like this starter a lot! Crunchy lotus root with braised mushroom and shredded pork which goes well with the sauce.

Ala carte sashimi, fresh and good.

Look at the thickness of the swordfish. Yes that's what I'm talking about. Sashimi haven. :D

The Chirashi sushi set also comes with miso soup and fresh fruits - watermelon.

Although I'm not into Chawanmushi, I actually ate half of it which this was actually not meant for me. :P

The waitress asked us to try their in-house recommendation dish of the day and we agreed. Sort of regretted when it turns out to be 2 pieces of grilled brinjal topped with sauce which they claimed is specially made. It was a very normal dish yet cost $8. :X

Shishamo, one of my all time favourite.

Cod fish Teriyaki set. I must say the cod fish is quite tender and tasty. The person who ordered this finished it squeaky clean. :P

Tempura with Soba Set. I like the smoothness of their soba and its refreshing taste. A good combination with fried Tempura.

This is a nice place for gathering or even dating. Reservation is recommended.
